BLACK and WHITE
BLACK and WHITE explores the topic of the relationship between the Self and the Other, through an analysis of the social mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion.
The main characters are stylized humans, who spread from the central section of the canvas to surround the whole frame.
The wall becomes the artificial structure, which legitimizes the separation from the Other and confines it over the pile of bricks.
Mortar and lateritious erect a dam in the relationship which creates a fracture with the Self.
Over the central band the extensions of the wall converge in the two labels BLACK and WHITE.
These two poles are empty of meaning and deprived of their identity, leaving the observer disoriented because of the confusing words.
